Information about the Linkr School

The Linkr Film school is not run like a standard school we have a focus on long term, relevant learning.
The quick and dirty is that we :

  1. Use Industry Practioners to teach. Instead of having full time teachers we use people who are actually out there and an active part of the industry.
  2. Don’t give students a pass or fail. Instead of A, B C, or F they are given an experience chart. This quickly lets themselves, and their future employees know what their strengths and weaknesses are.
  3. Concentrate on Intrinsic Motivation. We aren’t trying to push students through as fast as possible, we are trying to give students a life long passion for learning and mastering their craft.
  4. Try and give students a love for creativity. We love ideas generation, thinking out of the box, and a love of experimentation.
  5. Group people by their skills and aptitude. Instead of grouping people by how old they are, or what year of schooling they are we try to give people a challenge just above their current skill level. This promotes an increasing mastery of the art.
  6. Release their content under Creative Commons. Apart from specific industry work, student projects are released as Creative Commons-Attribution licensed. This means that the film school doesn’t own the content, the students and general public does. Promoting continuing collaboration.
  7. Put the films online. We will be putting the completed videos online for others to see, but not until the premiere screening at the cinema!

Note : The Linkr Film School is a current work in progress and is improving all the time. If you would like to help then please email school@filmsonthefly.com to to make some suggestions or offer help.
